Speaker

At last week’s Rotary meeting, Mike Rodak and his 8th-grade students shared how they are developing essential soft skills through hands-on experiences. Rodak’s class focuses on time management, public speaking, career exploration, and problem-solving, preparing students for future success.

Through the Rotary Club partnership, students participate in meaningful community service projects, including:

Raking leaves at the historical society in the fall.

Serving seniors at the Christmas luncheon.

Mulching and maintenance at the historical society in spring.

Each student highlighted how they applied a Model Mustang Trait during these experiences:

Innovative – Finding creative solutions, like improving efficiency during service projects.

Resilient – Overcoming challenges, whether adapting to a new school or persisting in difficult tasks.

Collaborative – Working together to complete projects and build strong connections.

Global – Emphasizing inclusion, equity, and supporting the broader community.

Empowered – Taking initiative and developing confidence through leadership opportunities.
