Speaker

Our speaker was Jamie Debenham who regaled us with stories and pictures from his trip to the Galapagos Islands.

The islands are famous for their contribution to Charles Darwins Theory of Evolution, and the giant tortoises they are named after.

Each island has unique species of birds, reptiles and other animals, and great care is taken that visitors do not contaminate areas, with footwear either being specific to one location, or thoroughly cleaned while at sea between stops.

Located right on the equator, over 500 miles off the coast of mainland Ecuador the Galagos provides a unique experience.
