Speaker

Our speaker was Todd Whitman of Serenite Restaurant and the Medina Recovery Center.

Todd grew up in Cleveland, the youngest of 10 to an alcoholic father, and his mother passed away when he was young.  He ended up on a bad path, spending 6 and a half years in juvenile and adult institutions.

He discovered he enjoyed cooking, and  started on that path.  In 2015 he got clean and sober, and found some restaurant jobs from there.  He went through the program at Edwin's on Shaker Square, and worked as an executive chef improving his craft.

He was then offered a chance to train under a French Chef, and ended up replacing him, and now the recovery center, culinary school, and restaurant all work together.
