Last week Ashley recognized the following "Rotarians Being Good": Tom and TJ Gigliotti and Sean Kilbane for their work with the Senior Picnic, Pat Greco for organizing a 50/50 at the Senior Picnic to benefit the Big Dreamers school, and Jerry Balint for being so focused on Rotary that Pat says he missed a doctor's appointment.
StrongFest
The event will benefit the Town Center Initiative in addition to other Rotary projects throughout the year. The Town Center Initiative will enhance the center of Strongsville, and provide a better space for events like StrongFest in years to come.
In addition to online ticket sales paper tickets will be available at the meeting if you want some that you can sell.

Speaker
Our speaker was Anton Krieger, chairman of the Rocky River Watershed Council. It is the only organization dedicated solely to the protection and restoration of the Rocky River Watershed, The Council is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors comprised of a diverse assortment of public (Strongsville’s own Jennifer Milbrandt is a member of their board) and private sector professionals.
The Rocky River Watershed consists of the entire area that drains to the Rocky River when it rains. The 294 square mile network of neighborhoods, farms, forest, parks, roads and streams stretch from Medina to Lake Erie and includes all or part of 32 municipalities and townships located in four different counties.
At the meeting on August 5th the Rotary Club of Strongsville presented checks to the beneficiaries of the Strongsville Kids Fest and Duck Race held on June 4th. Duck Race chair Rick Weiser and Club President Ashley Gay presented the checks.
In addition checks were mailed out to our partnering organizations who helped us sell ducks: Boy Scout Troop 701, Berea Animal Rescue Fund, Crooked River Longhouse and Brady's K-9 Fund.
