Bryan and Ravi presented a check to Margret Klingzinger of Winspiration, the final check presentation to a beneficiary of this year's Kids Fest and Duck Race.

Chris Kneeland presented a check for $5,500 to the club from the recent Hospitality for Hope event they had at Rosewood Strongsville.
Visit From DG Bob Oborn
We were pleased to welcome District Governor Bob Oborn as our speaker last week. With humor and energy, Bob reminded us that the district’s purpose is simple: to support clubs and help them succeed.
He reported on several important developments across the district:
36 Years of Women in Rotary
Rotary admitted women in 1989, a change that transformed the organization. Today, more than 377,000 women are members worldwide, and their leadership and service have been vital to Rotary’s growth and impact.
Club Anniversaries
Eight clubs in the district are celebrating their centennials this year, marking 100 years of Rotary service in Northeast Ohio communities.
Investing in Leaders
The district is supporting future leaders by sending emerging leaders to Zone Institute and providing stipends to help President-Elects attend PETS.
Bob then turned to the personal priorities he has chosen to emphasize during his year as District Governor:
Membership – Growing Rotary by making clubs attractive, inclusive, and welcoming. District funds are available (up to $2,500 in matching support) to help clubs hold effective membership events.
Youth Exchange – Promoting both long-term and short-term exchanges as life-changing opportunities for students, with a goal of increasing participation in the coming years.
Addiction Prevention and Treatment – A deeply personal focus for Bob, this initiative seeks to reduce stigma and connect clubs with local rehabilitation and treatment resources, as well as organizations supporting families affected by addiction.
He also touched on two additional areas of focus:
Disaster Preparedness – Encouraging clubs to explore partnerships with local police and fire to support vulnerable residents during extended outages or emergencies.
The Rotary Foundation & PolioPlus – Reminding members of the 2-for-1 Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation match for donations to PolioPlus, and celebrating that there have been only 23 cases of polio reported worldwide this year.
Bob closed with a reminder that: “The district is here to support you. If there’s a roadblock, let us know. Rotarians have the audacity to dream and the tenacity to bring it to fruition.”
