Speaker

Our speaker was Michael Bernot of the West Side Catholic Center (WSCC).  WSCC is an independent charity founded in 1977 that has no affiliation with either the Diocese of Cleveland or the Catholic Charities.

They provide a range of services to people in the area, including a shelter, transitional housing, food and a resource center providing assistance to people looking for solutions.  They also provide workforce development with a culinary academy, and also run Ohio City Pizzeria.  One sign of success is that they can't afford to hire the graduates of the culinary academy as other restaurants are willing to pay more.

The 45th Annual Installation Dinner and Awards Banquet was held on Jun 10, 2022 at Michaud’s Event Center.

Master of Ceremonies for the evening was Kevin Lynch, who also provided some additional door prizes.  Tom Laub provided the invocation and led the Pledge of Allegiance.

After dinner we started with a special presentation.  Dan Cricks and Jim Kaminski presented a wedding gift to Chelsea and Josh.  Chelsea had been our speaker at one of our meetings recently sharing her story of overcoming several challenges during her life, including some stories of her time in the Connections program.

  • Club Appreciation Award: George Grozan
  • Rising Star Award: Ravi Velu
  • President’s Award: Dan Cricks
  • Dedicated Rotarian Award: Manjit Khuban
