World Polio Day
School Principal
Strongsville High School Principal Bill Wingler came in to give an update on the schools. Academically the schools are doing very well, and getting top marks from the state. In addition the students are doing well, and with a lot of AP classes available many students are able to graduate with college credits, saving money when they further their education.
One of the biggest challenges the school is seeing these days is an increase in anxiety, and the school is putting in place programs to address that.
Speaker
Our speaker was Mary Ellen Larkin of Audrey's Outreach.
Audrey's Outreach is located at the Brook Park Community Church, but is not run by the church. They are a pantry of the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, and Hunger Network, and can purchase food from them at low cost, and they also have a free clothing program.
The program has grown from Audrey's initial small cabinet to using all the available space they can find, including a shed, a two room apartment with 4 freezers, and a shed.
Mary Ellen would also like to extend a special thank you to the Rotarian who handed her a generous donation after the meeting.
