The Chili Open will run from 10am to 3pm this year, with the doors opening at 9am if you want to claim your favorite table, and the fun, games, food and drink starting at 10. With the generous support of area businesses the Chili Open Golf Classic, organized by the Rotary Club of Strongsville, has raised more than $2 million for charity since 1992. The all-volunteer event has become a February tradition in Northeastern Ohio, drawing nearly 1,000 golfers who tee off into blasts of frigid air, putt across frosty greens and warm up in a hall full of hot food and sizzling activities, like the action-packed celebrity auction.

Volunteers needed for the Historical Society Gounds Cleanup. People can bring work gloves, rakes, other gardening hand tools, 39 gallon yard waste bags, and 39 gallon cans to hold the bags while we fill them. I think we're going to clean and spread mulch. People can bring wheel barrows, mulch shovels, and rakes to spread mulch. There is also a group of middle school kids planning to come on Friday to do cleanup so depending on how much they get done, we might only have to mulch on Saturday. |
