Speaker
Kara Lapso came to share her experiences working with Shelter Box as a Response Team member.  She has been with ShelterBox for 12 years, and deployed six times, twice to the Philippines where ShelterBox has an operations center.

ShelterBox has evolved from providing a tent and essential tools in a box to having a more customized response to every area, so the aid may come in a bag, it may be concrete and corrugated metal roofs, or whatever other supplies are needed to help a community get back on its feet.

A lot of the work of the ShelterBox staff is logistical and administrative, getting the aid through customs, making sure they are in compliance with local laws, and getting the aid to local volunteers, often Rotarians, who know where it can be used best.

Ashley Gay presented a $1,000 check from the Strongsville Rotary Foundation to Shelter Box.
